Frequently Asked Questions
Check out a few of the most common questions I have received from clients. Hopefully, you can find the answer you’re looking for. If you can’t, please let me know and I’ll get you the information you need as soon as possible.
What is an SLP?
A speech-language pathologist (SLP) diagnoses and treats speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
How are services provided?
We begin with a phone consultation during which parents share their concerns with the SLP. You may schedule an evaluation with us or provide the SLP with a recent evaluation report. If therapy is warranted, a weekly schedule of in-person or teletherapy sessions will be arranged.
What does CCC mean?
The Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is a nationally recognized credential for audiologists and speech-language pathologists. Extensively trained and dedicated to improving lives, ASHA-certified professionals are committed to excellence and adhere to the highest ethical standards. Only those who complete a rigorous academic program, pass a national examination, and pursue continuing education are eligible to be ASHA-certified.
